It's my opinion that the camper package makes towing feel more sure footed. The sway bar and stiffer springs keep my 2016 f250 rig firmly planted. I tow a 320bhds Coachman, 38ft long at 8k#.
My last truck was a 2014 f250 without camper package and did not feel like the 2016 with the package. My 2 cents....
Question: Does the Camper Package with stiffer springs change the unloaded ride characteristics vs the standard spring package?
I have a choice between 2 vehicles are one with the camper package on the local lot and one without that is 100 miles away.
I will be towing 9-10K TT plus gear in truck.
Yes. They are stiffer.
They will increase cargo capacity, but you may not need that much CC.
The first thing I'd do is compare the CC of both trucks. It is possible the regular spring model has more CC due to fewer options, etc.

That is the plan this afternoon to test drive both. I probably don't need the increased CC, the sway bar would be welcome, but that can be easily added later.
I have 2 MY16 trucks to choose from:
1. The truck with the camper package doesn't have a sunroof (Lariat Interior with just the Nav). A plus for me.
2. The other one a is a full Lariat Ultimate Package with Nav & Sunroof.
After you change out the camper package to have 20" wheels they are within $500 of each other.
I would prefer the headroom over the sunroof, but if the unloaded ride is harsher, then I guess I will be giving up on some headroom and taking the non-camper package.
I've always thought of sun roofs as a leak waiting to happen. My 2007 Lariat has no sun roof and came with the caper package. If I recall, the truck had a more-level stance than those without, but it's been many years since I ran a stock suspension.
