High mileage Excursion

My Excursion has 309,000 miles on it . I am fixing to take a 1200 mile round trip drive and would like your thoughts on taking this vehicle. Thanks.

If it's well maintained that mileage wouldn't stop me. It's all about the maintenance!

Since we know nothing about your vehicle and it's idiosyncrasies, the above comments are accurate, maintenance, maintenance, maintenance.

I say go for it. My motto is carry lots of tools or a good credit card.

My 2001 "Rudolph" has 423K on him
"The Monster" my 2005 Excursion just turned over 210K today, I wouldn't hesitate to take EITHER on a road trip anywhere. Whether it's to San Antonio or The Dominion of Canada 2,000+ miles away, it wouldn't hesitate to take either.

We just took our 2005 with 212000 on a 2500 mile road tripand no worries. If you feel its reliable I dont really think miles matter. You could have a mechanic you trust give it a once over, but you probably know it better than anyone if you drive it everyday.

I just crossed over 310k and I have a 14,000 mile travel schedule between now and the end of August. I'll be pulling my 33ft TT the whole time.

If it has been properly maintained, then you should be good to go. Things break from time to time and unfortunately it tends to happen on long trips...at least it does for me... When I hit the road again I am going to look at the member map and have people on stand by.
