Im fixing to get this system installed on my 1999 Ford F-150 5.4L. I am going to route them out the back and to the corner of each bumper. The tips are 3 1/2 inch X 16 inches long. My question is how loud will it be on the inside of the cab because i hate loud noises in the cab, but i want it to sound good on the outside. Take in mind that i have 4 cats.
check the website. I dont have them installed yet(im planning too), but the site says the interior sound is suppose to be real loud too. You can hear a sample on the site.
i put on the 40 series just the other day on my 95 ford f-150 with a 302. the flowmaster site makes it sound awesome but it definately isnt all that loud. i have 2.5 inch pipes only one cat left and it still doesnt sound very loud
i can hear more in the cab than on the outside
The 40 series is a bit loud in the cab for my taste. I have the Street/Strip (425400) installed now and wished I'd known better. The 50 Delta series isn't quite as loud. Go to Flowmasters web site for all the db info.
The cats will cut down on some noise. If you going to the corners with the tips it will be alot louder than out the rear. If your worried about noise do not put the 40's on your truck 50 delta's should be fine. Trust me on this I have headers, no cats, true 2.5" pipes, 40 series originals, tailpipes to the corners with 4"x18" tips... After a half hour ride about 65 mph I have to let off the gas to get my ears to stop buzzing.. lol Dan
