I looking at building a 2016 F150 SC short bed. Ford offers a hard bed cover and a soft bed cover. I currently have a Undercover on my 09 F150 and have liked it but I am interested in the Ford covers. Does anyone have any experience with either of these covers?
In my experience, the FORD covers leak, especially in heavy rain. Am awaiting delivery of an ARE LSX Ultra fibreglass cover to keep my stuff dry and safe; kept my last truck dry as a bone--suggest you do the same. Good luck! LSX Ultra Series Tonneau Covers : A.R.E. Truck Caps and Tonneau Covers
They may have changed since I had mine. In 2008 I bought a Ford solid cover. It looked nice and sealed up well. I didn't like that the lid did not open very far & it was a major pita to take off & reinstall. The 2nd time I needed to take it off, I sold it and bought a BacFlip. At one time I think Ford was using BacFlip as a supplier for hard folding covers.
I'm very happy w/ my Revolution X2 Bed Cover! I can open and close the tail gate w/o touching the cover and very little moisture gets in even in our torrential Florida rains! Check out my gallery for pics.......
Just FYI, I just installed my hard tonneau cover from Ford today. It's supplied by Undercover, probably an Elite. Fits great, easy to install. Paint looks great (Ruby Red).
I am ordering a F350 tomorrow. Can someone who has the factory retractable tonneau please post a pic? If it is or is similar to the Retrax Pro, I will order that option. Otherwise I am looking at the PE aluminum series.
