Oil Dipstick replacement

My 1990 E-150 w/ 5.0 Dipstick rusted out.
Everyone's trying to sell me a 27" one. But the old one is 33" .
Does any one have a source for the correct size?
Even the dealer doesn't have/can't get one?

Is the dipstick or the tube rusted out?

E6UZ-6754-A

If it is the tube you need. Notice the part number starts with E =1980's, 6= they actual year, hence 1996.
U stands for = Econoline So the part was built for a 1986 econoline.

This guy has the correct part number but gives a different fitment from what the part number belongs to

Just double checked and according to FPG list, that part number is good for a e150 with a 5.0 from 1986 to 1996

E-150 dipstick

The tube seems fine. The dipstick rusted out at the top. I had the same problem with my 79 F-150. Condensation acumulates at the top.
Thanks for the info!

well I think you will have a hard time finding the dipstick itself unless you go to a junk yard.. I was thinking about materials one could make one out of.. I dont know if Nylon would hold up but HF sells a nylon fish tape pretty cheap and it is quite flexiable.
Nylon Fish Tape - Save Big on this 50 Ft. Nylon Fish Tape

You can also buy stainless steel braided cable and make an end for it as well as figure out a way to fasten it to the dipstick handle.

You might be able to find a transmission dipstick and cut it to length and adapt it to your old handle.

Or you might try a place that makes dipsticks

Or take a look at this one and see if you can modify it..
Length (In): 67.600 Inch

Contact this seller and get him to measure this one, maybe you could modify it..

Thanks for the insight.
I'll start checking junkyards. But cutting a longer one down is probably the way to go. Luckly, it broke while pulling it out, so it's not stuck down the tube.
