I just got a 2010 Ecoboost and Im starting to get a rattle on startup. I hooked my scanner to it was curious what specs are for actual advance? I believe mine are but I cant confirm. When parked in drive the actual advance does not .3 degrees. Also Im certain this has been beaten to death but does federal emissions cover it? I tried one asking at one dealer but they didnt want to hear it.
Also how long are people going without changing the chain? just curious how quickly this should be dealt with

How many miles are on the truck? The TSB will cover the a timing chain issue if t he truck is within the power train warranty. Are you getting a CEL of any kind? Perhaps the dealer is better equipped to diagnose the issue and advise.

Either forum would have been ok as the TSB covers the 3.5L ecoboost through the 2015 model year.
