Ok.. I ordered the EOT pigtail only for it to arrive and be the wrong one. Dealership can have it by tomorrow but Napa and other auto parts store cannot order it.. What the hell.. I will have to get it from the dealer then cut the connector and splice and heat shrink it..

Ok I was wondering if anyone had this happen. With the p0197 code the oil always registers the temp at 212 degrees since the pigtail is bad. When I start it runs rough like pulsing. Once it starts it runs great and the oil temp is always at 212. I figure once I can walk I will replace the sensor and this should take care of the problem. Anyone have this problem?
The PCM needs the oil temp information to decide how much fuel you need. Limp mode just like in cars with a bad air or water temp sensor. 7.3 with auto tranny uses the oil temp for this info. It is one of the more important sensors to the PCM.
I am hoping since I replaced the sensor and still get the p0197 code and the connector has exposed wiring that when I replace the connector and the part of the wiring that is exposed. That this code goes away and the PCM gets the correct info. I am going to do this tomorrow cross your fingers.. Hope it works for me
Well let me tell you guys something.. I love my wife..I am laid up due to knee surgery and cannot get up there to fix this issue. So my wife all 5'2" of herself crawls into the engine compartment and does the job and did it great.. Checked to ensure the codes were gone and boom they were gone. She heat shrinked the connectors and made it look really good. My lil helper deserves a steak dinner tonight...
