Help!!....old leaky transfer case
I need some direction. I have a 1960 F100 4wd. The transfer case is covered with about 1" of grease and oil, from leaky seals. I have a 292 y-block V8 engine that I would like to bolt a Mustang T5 5 spd. manual tranny to. I know I can get a conversion bell housing from John Mummert, and i can adapt the rear tranny support as needed, and cut the floor pan for the shifter. I don't know what to do about the transfer case and drive lines. My drive splines are in bad shape too. Will a 1356 case work?

Wow, talk about some odd-ball component matching. I really don't have the answer to your question, other than to offer the thought that np205s are a dime a dozen and Advanced Adapters do make plenty of conversion kits for them. Maybe its time to just junk the old x-case...
