I have a 1990 Aerostar V6 with power windows and power side view mirrors. Both the windows and mirrors quit working at the same time. I pulled the power window circuit breaker and replaced it with a 20A fuse and they still did not work but did not blow the fuse either.
I haven't had a chance to check any voltages and would rather not pull the door panel if I don't have to. Does anyone know if there is another fusible link or something that might take out both of these systems.
Mike
P.S. The power locks work fine as does apparently everything else. I don't think it is related but since I bought it the rear heater fan does not shut off with the key. You have to actually be sure that the rear fan switch is off or it continues to run.

I was able to trace some things using a VOM and a bit of logic. It seems that something has happened to the grounding in the driver's door. I eventually removed the panel that holds the window switches and determined that the ground wire from the switch was not actually going to ground. I was able to run a jumper from the switch to a ground point under the dash and got the windows working.
Of course it is a kludge job and does nothing for the mirrors but since I am the only driver I don't need to adjust the mirrors anyway. I hate taking off panels and so I don't look forward to digging in further to find the actual problem. When I get tired of the kludge I will probably just pay someone to fix it.
