oil fired injectors?
Are the injectors on the '97 7.3L engine this type? If so, would Top Secret or some other brand oil treatment help to clean the injectors? I would think that after all these years it might be a beneficial thing to do. I'm not mechanically savy. Just a simple tree man retired

Yes, these injectors are oil fired.
NEVER EVER use oil additives in these motors. If your worried about dirty injectors, it's on the fuel side. Go to your favorite fuel station and get the white bottle of diesel kleen and add some to each tank. After a few tanks you've done all you can without a full injector rebuild.

Not sure how effective it is, but I used to do this with ATF in my old Merc Diesel and it seemed to do a pretty good job.
