alternator help

Can anyone tell me the name of this specific part on the back of the alternator my son broke the piece and we can't locate one.Its on a 1970 f100

Gees why not get a g3 130 amp alternator from the junk yard the harness and up grade. This has the built in reg. and does away with a bunch of wires.

A lot of info on how to do this.

Not trying to be a smart aleck, but could you be more specific? It looks like some of the insulation is missing, but the pic is a bit fuzzy.

If you're referring to that black piece of plastic, don't worry about it....

I also recommend a 3G swap. One of the best things I did.

I see the complete alternator harness on ebay from to to time for about $100 bucks +or -
This why I said change over much cheaper.

Honestly though, I'd recommend the 95 amp if you don't have many electronics.

Thanks for the advice he's gonna switch alternators. He was hoping to keep the original harness but no luck finding one.

this is on my list of iwanna do as well.
Seems with so many doing the upgrade the OP should have been able to locate a replacement wiring harness.

When, I removed my old wiring alternator harness is was very Brittle and, I even had to retape the harness up when needed replace the regulator terminal pig tail as the old stuff was starting to peel loose.

Old and hard not worth selling or even reusing. I'd think most are in this type of same shape.
