Well..... I do! I don't let it get me down though. I didn't get the Bronco because I wanted MPG. However, the diesel should bring up my MPG a little and diesel is cheaper than gas as of now too!!
A 460 with 4:56 gears would be ridiculous! It would be pretty cool, but you'd definitely want to make sure your axles/driveshaft would be up to the task (I know you said you'd be getting a C6 which I think are good but I don't know much about them.) You could always go with a ZF5 as well!
I would just try to get what you have going rather then a while big frame swap or engine swap ordeal.
they are bother pretty gutted as far as accessories .
your truck that was a snow plow is really not that bad of condition.
im sure you can section out a few good pieces of frame if you grind out and swap a new section into your truck off the pars truck.
that 302 is a good ideal motor so I would stick with that rather then some junk yard mission that will have the same issues. just give that motor a go and see how good you can get it. im sure its not all that terrible and most of the broncos see way more damage then that when you start going off road. you are in good shape. just rebuild the 302 or refresh what ever you can on it.
im sure its really not that bad of shape like pieced together as you put it. sure it may need some seals of freeze plugs and they always do. just pick a direction you want to go. take your time and get familiar because there are so many options of drivetrain and driveline so the 302 is a good motor to get going with or I actually saw a 500 somthing inch stroker 460 online that was pretty build an efi in california area of san diego for like 1500 bucks it sounds like a good deal.
there is alot to do with a 302 like the truck MAX that has afr 165cc heads on it and well built.....
At this point, the previously broken frame on the 87 looks the best. I did a little more vin searching, and it appears that my 87 originally had a 351w with a 4 barrel carburetor. Is that a rare thing?
as far as I know no 351 ever came stock with a 4 barrel so one of 3 things: 1: SUPER RARE, 2: You misinterpreted the vin, or 3: I was just oblivious to the fact that some came with a 4 barrel.
