2011-2012 6.7 powerstroke

Hey guys im in the market for a new truck and im looking for a low mileage 2011 to 2012 6.7 powerstroke but ive heard of those years having issues and the 2013s are better. Can anyone give their opinion on the early 6.7s? Should i spend more money and get the 2013?
Thank you!

I think you should get a 2013 or newer if you want a diesel. Really, a 2011 truck built before 3/11 would be the questionable ones so technically, anything after that should be good. I think the 2012 issue were just turbo problems? That's not too big of a deal. But to get the most updates and refinements you'd be in '13.

Well said Joel. The only problem I'd seriously worry about is the exhaust valve issue that could affect most '11s. The exhaust valves crack, and the ensuing carnage requires an engine replacement. Engines built after 3/2011 had revised valves that weren't susceptible to this, so I'd look for anything built after 4/2011 to be certain this couldn't affect you.
