In a different thread it says that a 92 would have a 3 digit code . I have a 92 Super cab with a 302 and 5 speed . I pulled the codes and had AUTO ZONE pull them also . Hey only 2 digit codes . Are we both doing it wrong or is it something else.
Someone said it's possible for later trucks to use 2-digit computers, so yours may be one. I've never seen it, so do a test. Read the codes, then clear them and unhook the IAC (or whatever, but ONE thing you're certain of). Then pull the codes again and see what you get. If reading them as 2 digits gives you an IAC code, then you can be pretty sure it's 2. If you have to read them in 3 digits to see an IAC code, then it's certainly 3.
Yes its all doing what it is supposted to. I did start changing the oil about 2 weeks ago and got pulled off. Later I needed to go to the land fill and loaded the trash up and took off. Just as I pulled out in the road hit 4 gear I looked down and thought my guages wernt worling . Then I remembered that there was no oil in the motor. I turned it off and coasted in a lot , walked home and took the Jeep back and oiled it up. It started and ran good the oil presure came up and I checked the oil for grit and fillings. I didnt notice any at that time. I drove the truck for another 2 weeks then started to change the TPS , cleaned the Throttle body and some of the intake, I even pulled some of the stuff out. Put it back together and tried to start it. It only turned over about 1/2 turn and never moved after that. I did try to hook it to the Jeepand break it lose. No go on that!
