Does any one have the part # Rancho steering shock? I have one and don't recall the part number but its shot already(6 months). I inspected it and the boot was torn from rubbing on the shaft. I have three part #'s...5404...5406...5410????
I have a 5404. Fits perfectly in place of the factory unit.
5406 has a slightly longer arm and requires you to move the stock bracket a couple of inches.
5410 is a new part number specifically for the X. Supposedly has slightly different hardware, but I have not heard a good explanation of this change yet.
All 3 will fit. I think that the 5410 is the one specified for the X, but my 5404 fit like a glove.
I have the 5404, 6 months old and its shot! The boot was tore at the top real bad from rubbing on the bar! I guess the water and dirt killed the shock! I will try the 5410 now and throw the 5404 away since I threw the receit away too!
