If iam doing it right it should be under 3000lbs.The width 82'' not sure because the 1950 ford f1 cab is 76''. I thought the they where the same beside the hood or are the fenders bigger on the coe cab.
You will have to take the outer wheels off but all should be good if your length is ok. Mine had trailer fenders but the hubs come above them with 20 inch tires.
Just a hint though if you dont have an engine load the rear up first to keep weight forward on trailer. The rear ends are very heavy.
Thanks pweng1 iam just worried that it is to wide for the trailer the length is ok because 6'6''x 12 trailer and the frame is cut off behind the cab. The fenders are on the outside of deck so I hope it not a problem
Fenders (and grill) are wider on the COEs than regular cab trucks. Like truckdog said, the F7/F8 have the same wider front ends.
It should fit on the trailer if you still have the front tires, but how are you going to balance it? Do you have some dolly wheels or similar to hold up the back? Is the engine and trans still in it?
If it does not have the wheels, you could winch it on sideways, it will fit the trailer width unless you have long residual frame rails sticking out.
The engine is still in it I don't know about trans I did not think to ask. I don't have any dolly wheels. I was thinking of just putting it over the tandem axles. If you have any suggestions I like to hear them. I am picking it up this weekend.
The last one i seen shipped from midwest to east coast they had a 4x4 with harbor freight wheels attached to the cut off frame to wheel it up in the trailer but make sure you chain down the frame not the 4x4. If you look at some of those pics of the 3 car trailers i seen they had 2 Coes cutoff behind the Cab like that and 2 f1s on same trailer.
We will be loading it with a big tractor. iam was thinking of setting it on the trailer with nothing under it. Do you guys think I should put some wood under the cut off part or just leave it on the trailer?
The cabs are the same size but the dash panels are different between the 48-50 and the 52 versions. Just as with the smaller trucks, the fenders don't interchange between the versions. Entire front clips can be swapped on the F1s, for instance, but the parts cannot be comingled as the grille spacing varies.
Thanks for that. I am putting together a Basket - case COE the front fenders have holes that seem like they should mount to the cab but there are no holes in the cab to accommodate such. The arc of the fender doesn't match the cab either. There is a gap at the rear between the two. The hood is a different color and seems a bit taller that it should be.
Which is which? There is no title so he doesn't really know what he has.
I haven't found any pictures on the WWW to help with this -
