heater??

Does anyone have ideas on improving my heater output? I've replaced the thermostat and heater core but it still isn't blowing very warm or very much volume. Yesterday it would keep the windows defrosted but wouldn't warm up the cab. We had a high temp of -11 and a low of -29. Thanks

Cody , It sounds like the cable that operates the blend door isnt directing the flow of hot air from the heater core . If the door doesnt open all the way you will have a reduced flow of heat to the cab . Does the temp lever seem to have more or less resistance ?

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 31-Jan-02 AT 01:31 AM (EST)]The cable seems to have low resistance throughout the movement. I know the door is moving, but it doesn't quite move all the way shut when I move the lever to hot. How do I fix this?

I'm have the same problem with mine, but my temp lever has a lot of resistance. Is there anyway to fix it?

Youll just have to remove some of the dash to check the cable operation . Remove the trim around the radio & heater controls & unbolt the heater control unit & pull it forward so you can see if the cable is secure at that point . After that you will have to follow the cable along until you find the problem . Its cramped up in there , some of the inspection will have to take place from under the dash .

I would just like to add to Paul’s comment, its easier to get at the cable and flapper if you remove the glove box, just pull it up and push on the two tabs at the bottom. I think its removable on yours, it is on my 92". Also it might be designed different than mine so just look at to see how it comes out.
