No start post fuel filter change

Went and changed my fuel filters today... Primed the truck 6 times. Started it. Ran great, then got a low fuel pressure and reduced power notification. Turned it off. tried priming it 10 more times, no start, tried 15 more times. No start. Took off the outlet on the secondary filter, solid flow. Took off the return on the L/H fuel rail, pinched the line and put a hose on the rail... Once again solid flow.

I can hear air somewhere under the hood but I don't know where... Driving the 7.3 to work tomorrow but this is driving me up the wall. Ideas? Suggestions?

Double check that you have the water separator drain closed all the way. Then make sure the Oring on the water separator filter housing is not twisted or bunched up.

Already checked. It's good. Pump is running quite. All the noise is coming from under the hood

check the fuel cutoff switch. Does not sound like the problem though.

Verify those fuel connections at the motor.

My worse fear is that I killed the high pressure fuel pump

it is possible that the change happened as the hpfp was on its way out. Doubtful. You still have air.

Charge your batteries and purge somemore.

Make sure all your connections are tight.

When you say you have already 2 gallons of fuel thru, Where have you pumped fuel thru? Where did it come out? What fittings is leaking?

Scan for codes? Besides the low fuel pressure did you get anything else?

Short of that I guess you need a tow.

Heck, if it's that bad try putting the old filters back in. Or, drain the new filters out and start over.

I'm considering installing each filter individually in the future. Do the bottom one, prime and run, then the top. I've had a hard time lately getting the purge to settle in.

Call me simplistic but if it ran before the filter change and not after there's an air leak or air bubble that won't go away.
