Without being mean, this is the problem with internet forums and people who don't really know the answer. Yes it will start and run fine (perceivably) if it's for a stock truck like yours but you will find the limitations after a while although they won't be the fault of the tuning.
Boy theres are a few guys that do it, most will recomend Justin at DP tunner, not sure he still does the old TS chip, The new improved thing is the Hydra now,
I got my ts chip re-programed by tony 2 years ago with custom tunes that worked with my mods on my sig.
Yeah I can attest to that statement, I like the TS style chip better than the Hydra, I dont got a need for that many tunes And I almost always just use my "tow" mode or my hot tune. Yes the hydra has some good features but for me ahh?
The chip will work but remember theres always a "with supporting mods" statement. And you will run out of oil in the hotter settings and also start defueling once you get up to 22psi of boost, but like I mentioned its a canned tune aint nothing better than vustom tunes.
What tune do you use this one came with
1 stock
2 high idle
3 50 hp not sure if it is tow or not
4 75 hp not sure if it is tow or not
5 140
6 extreme tune
I do believe that is what they are not sure have to look at the paper that had it all written on it again he said the 50 and 75 were tow tunes he was a young kids so I'm not too sure.....
Mine got reflashed, and got custom tunes,
But pretty universal are the TS canned tunes
All depends on what order the original owner decided to put them in.
Mine was
1. Stock
2. High Idle
3. 50Hp heavy tow
4 75hp light tow
5. 100Hp street tune
6. 140Hp race tune
Theres a vallet mode
Theft mode (no start)
Cant remember the rest.
When I had the canned tunes at the time stock obs truck it suffered high egts on the slightest incline, I had to back off the pedal to keep egts in check, now with custom tunes and mods I dont worry about egts as much as i did.
Thanks for the heads up I don't really plan on running the last two tunes I'll decide what one of the 50 and 75 I like more and stick with that one don't want to cause damage to the truck
I would suggest you get an egt gauge first, before putting chip, also remember my truck did not come equiped with an intercooler, so your truck may vary.
