My bronco was running good and I hit a bump and it just died. Inertia switch isn't tripped and all the relays were replaced. I changed the ignition switch as well. With the EEC still hooked up I got no spark. I haven't checked spark with it unplugged yet, with everything hooked up I had no voltage at the EEC relay when I turn the ignition on. I have the Haynes manual but none of the diagrams show the wire colors that I see under the hood! Please help me!
The truck is a 1988 Bronco 4x4 automatic with 351W
Inertia switch: Checked... double check?
Fuses: Checked... (I assume)
Ignition Switch: Checked... (did you check each wire at the ignition switch to make sure all where getting power where they should?)
Okay so what I would do next is follow the plugs back until you find either power or a bad ground (probably) wires, dizzy, ignition... ect... I know that isn't very helpful but thats all I would think of to do off the top of my head. In my experience it ALWAYS a ground somewhere but my stuff doesn't have computers and all that if i can help it. Good Luck!
Check the small wires at the negative battery terminal. Had an 85 that had an ignition ground come loose. It was wired direct to the negative battery terminal . Engine would try to die out when hitting bumps while driving. 1 or 2 strands of wire held it in place enough to keep spark, but when I hit a small bump, it would cut out. Ford dealer charged me $2.50 to crimp a new eyelet on the wire. Could have been hundreds of dollars in troubleshooting.
