Well, it is done. I converted the dually to single axle. Really easy and used different backspaced rims to get it lined up so i could keep the Dane 80 rear. Attached is a few before and after photos.
Purchased with a Lance Camper, Truck has 90,000 miles.
Sold lance and painted truck
Put new bed and painted truck, ready for lift and tires
Complete except for the new steps. 18X9 rims with -12 and +18 offset.
I wanted a single wheel, but found this dually with low miles for cheap. It is a Lariat LE, so it has the captain seats front and rear. I seem to see more duallies for sale than low mile single wheels. Then people ask way to much for them, $20k to $30k. Sometimes you need to think out of the box to get want you want, plus now I have a real strong rear axle and 4.10 gears.
It was originaly a Centirun? Eddition thats why you have all captain chairs still looks good.
It's was a 2000 F350 Lariat LE. The seats say LE on them. It appears to be a one or two year option. You can see the unique paint job it had in the first photo. It wasn't really my style.
Dualies around here seem to be right up there with the SRW's for mileage and price.
You need to take your time and sometimes think outside of the box. I bought it with the Lance, the owner wanted to sell as package and not sell just the truck. Bought it for around $20k, then sold camper for $6k. So for $14k, and $5k into the conversion and paint, I'm basically back to about $20k, and have a 90,000 mile Lariat LE, full leather, insane maintenance history, stock engine, grandpa driven, southern california truck, with no rust. I wanted a SRW with low miles, and a truck like this now, guys would be charging over $30k and that was not in the budget.
