Sorry to clutter the thread, but maybe I'm active now and you can send that PM. Yeah I'm a newbie here.

Thanks!

I got a new PM from you but, it only contained the text of what I wrote in my last PM to you . There was no text from you contained in the last message you sent to me (??).

It would be best just to communicate directly through my private email address I had given you.

Just a heads up that your instrument cluster (cluster #2) has been delivered to the UPS shipping terminal. It shows a scheduled delivery date for Tuesday, April 26th. Tracking number has been sent to your personal email.

Thanks,

Steve

I've had 9 of these clusters --currently down to 7 now. I've never seen one of these wrecking yard clusters that wasn't going to need some elbow grease to dress them up but, I've seen numerous ones that looked really good after they were prettied up.

This is the first truck part I've shipped in about two years. In fact, the last time I shipped anything, it was also a big truck instrument cluster. I wasn't even advertising it for sale. A guy in Clear Water, Florida contacted me, after he saw a photo of the other clusters I have. I was intending to keep that one for myself but, he made me an offer I couldn't refuse.

This is the one that resides in Florida now. (instrument cluster in the foreground).

Nice cluster amigo. You know the other word that goes with cluster.. and that sure isn't it. Mine was black & chrome when I got it, somewhat corroded, and missing both the tach & vacuum gauge. I've found both missing gauges now so hope to have it working by June. No spedo possible yet, as my PTO, on the back of the Xfer case does not leave room for the spedo cable to attach. I even bought a pricey 90 deg converter, but no luck with that either. My next idea is to rotate the Xfer output housing 90 deg, and see if I can worm the cable in that way... We shall see... photos will be posted if it works..

Of all the big truck clusters I've pulled or, even just ones that I have seen in the wrecking yards, the black and chrome ones almost always have more surface rusting on them than the ones that are painted white.

I don't know if the black and chrome versions were available in the Bumpside F500-up trucks(?) Personally, I've never seen anything but the white versions in the Bumpside big trucks and the black and chrome versions in the Dentside big trucks.

'67 F500-up clusters have a much larger font on the gauges than the '68-up clusters. The "100" on the '67 speedometer is also flipped around, compared to the "0-90" on the '67 big truck cluster and as compared to the "100" on the '68-up big truck clusters.

Here's an example of the larger font and the 'flipped' 100 on a '67 big truck cluster.

Example in the difference between the gauge fonts. I'm not exactly sure when the fonts changed. I have a white instrument cluster with a hardwire harness sticker on the back of the cluster that reads C8TB-10B942-A. it has the larger font with the 'flipped' "100." Another white cluster I have has a cluster wiring harness sticker that begins with C0 (1970). It has the smaller font. I would GUESS the large style font ran from '67-'69 and the smaller font came into use on the '70-'79 clusters (speculation).

I will go with you info amigo, as the one I bought came from Evilbay, and it wasn't in too bad of shape. Not pristine, but not too bad. I took it to my local paint & body Guru, and Edgar worked his magic on it, where it now appears only slightly used, and a 8 or 9 out of a 10 point system. I do like the black faced gauges over the white.. and the old Military gauge look, like WWII airplanes. If its from a Dent, then they must have had exactly the same dash shape to fit into, as it fits perfectly into my '68.

The Bumpside style (metal) dash structure carried over into the Dentside F500-up model big trucks. Dimensionally, a '73-'79 F500-up big truck instrument cluster will bolt right into the dash cluster opening of a '67-'72 F100 - F350 truck.

This is the latest model big truck instrument cluster I have --from a '78 F600. I'm fairly certain '77 and earlier F500-up clusters were hard-wired, just like '67-'69 F100-F350s.

Printed circuit.

This is the only Dentside F500-up cluster I have that has a printed circuit. All the other black/chrome Dentside big truck clusters I have have a hard-wired cluster.
