Driver side window HELP!!!!

OK so this is a fairly simple problem but not one I have encountered so far. I have been unable to find and answer elsewhere and even on this site. I have a 1980 f150 single cab and the guy I bought it from pretty much just used it as a woods toy. Well the driver side door glass is intact ( as far as I can see ) but it is not on the track and is just sitting inside the door. To keep rain and such out they cut out a piece of clear plastic and it seems to be OK but I would like so much to have an actual window lol. So I have tried pulling it up with my hands and trying to implement other tools to pull it up so I can get it back on track but no avail I can get it up more than a few inches. Are there special tools for this that I am not aware of? Can I break the door farther down to get better access? Any and all help is appreciated thanks.

Out side of bending the sheet metal I don't think you can do too much damage to the door its self pulling the glass up you need to get it started in the track then you should be able to get you hand under the glass make sure the track is clear
is the window regulator still there ? if not then once the window I up you will have to prop it up some how some pictures of what your doing might help us

Manual windows? Did you try turning the crank once you got it on track?

Very common problem:

There's a nylon window roller that fits on the end of the window regulator, then into the window channel that the glass fits to.

The window roller breaks, the window channel falls down to the bottom of the door.

The glass itself is adhered to the window channel with "glass tape" available from any auto glass shop.

D6AZ-53232340-A .. Window Roller - Use with Power or Manual Windows / Obsolete

1975/91 F100/350 & Econoline / 1978/91 Bronco / Misc: 1975/91 Passenger Cars.

GREEN SALES CO. in Cincinnati OH has 90 = 800-543-4959.

Roller shown as 23240 in pic, channel it fits into is 21458.

OK thanks for all the responses I was able to get the glass up into the track using some tape but it seems to bind up around halfway up. I know it seems dumb but I am not sure it is the right window or maybe it's backwards I'll take pics after work. But the nylon piece on the regulator and in is manual window sorry.
