fuel pumps replaced
finally hd to break down and replace my fue pumps yesterday, would hardly run on the rear pump, would run on the front. been putting it off for over a month, its 115 degrees here in the afternoon. got to say the bed removal was the best way. replacing the pumps once the bed was off only took about 20-30 minutes. ofcourse removing the bed in 115 degree temps. wasnt that much fun. guess ill find out today, when the temps get up there, if i fixed the problem. but i did have the fuel transfer problem and my front pump would stop working when it hit 110 and above, outside temps that is. funny, in the mornings the pressure would be right up there, on both tanks, and it would hold. but i the afternoon the front would drop right down until the engine would die. theyve got 106,000 on them. got to say the difference of taking the bed off and laying under the truck missing with trying to remove the tanks, when its 115 degrees out, is the difference of jumping out of a 2 story building opposed to a 3 story. they both hurt. guess if my truck cuts out in the afternoon after this ill try the pickup mod. on the distributor. thanks for all the suggestions from this site.
