Drivetrain Swap Quesiton

So I am entertaining swapping Drivetrains between two of my trucks.

1) 1991 Ford F150 w/302 AOD 4x4 Single Cab Short Bed

2) 1990 Ford F150 w/351W E4OD Auto 4x4 - Ext Cab Long Bed

I want to put the 351w/ E4OD in my Single Cab short bed truck and the 302 in the Extended Cab truck and sell it.

I love the drivetrain in the 351 truck, but like my single cab truck better. I want the best of both worlds.

It has the OD button built in to the dash so I am not sure how complicated this swap would be. Any insight would be appreciated.

The E4OD significantly complicates this swap as there is a wiring harness and some dash wiring that will have to be transferred too and I'm pretty certain that won't be a plug and play operation.. some cutting and splicing will be necessary. And I think the driveshafts won't work, the shafts in the reg cab truck will be too long for the E4OD and those in the ext cab truck too short for the AOD.
It's a neat idea but I don't know if it's worth the effort, you may be better off selling both trucks and buying one with the exact engine/chassis you want.
