Had a question about where the battery fuse is located and it's number. I just put a brand new alternator on.my truck. Turns out I might not have needed one, switched the battery with the new alternator on and the truck still went dead after it ran for about 10-12 seconds. So some told me it may be the battery fuse but I don't know which fuse it could be.
A voltmeter is your friend rather than just guessing at things.
If there is no voltage on the heavy lead from the battery to the alternator, the big fuse/circuit 175 amp rated is open.
Next, there is a 20 amp inline fuse for the alternator.
The motor won't stop running if either of these fuses are open unless the battery is near dead.
The motor control does not come though these fuses.
All circuits are direct from the battery through separate fused circuits to the distribution boxes.
You have something else going on.
The big fuse may be on the fire wall as part of the start relay circuit or it may be an inline fuse link in an insulated shell.
Good luck.
