So installing some lights on my truck and went to wire up to the upfitter switch from under the hood. I found behind the fuse panel under the hood drivers side what I believe is the 4 wires. But they don't have the same color as what's in the manual as well as on their site. Figures, maybe they had a change and didn't update the manual. So I go and test for power to find non any info would be appreciated
Those wires only go through the firewall to be used for accessories as you noted. THEY are NOT connected to the fuse box under your driver's side dash. They too need to be connected to power up accesories.
Thankyou r2millers this may be just what i needed. Either its not mentioned in the manual or i am blind as a bat and didnt see it. More likely the later of the two.. I'll post back when I get if together. Thanks again
The wires are near the steering column on my truck, not near the switch. They are also hard to get to, and are in a bundle with other wires. You may need to lie down and look up into the area above the steering column and find the 4 wires that are the same color as under the hood. For some reason, they made the wires short and hard to get to both inside the cabin and under the hood.
Some folks just run new wires through the rubber boot on the firewall to the engine compartment, which makes connecting them a lot easier.
4 wires under the dash near steering column - note the rubber tips
Driver's side of engine compartment near the firewall.
This was a rough country kit includes both bars and mounting brackets I got the dual bar kit here's a linkhttp://www.roughcountry.com/ford-super-duty-30in-led-grille-kit-7053c.html
The visibility is truly day and night. The bottom bar I had aimed down just a tad and the top was straight out. I'll take some pictures of them tonight for comparison
Wow, big difference. Now, the question about whether you'll get flashed, thinking your high beams are on?
If so, the upfitter switch is a inconvenient way to flip on and off.
Nice job!
Yea these won't replace brights although my brights are just as good as my dim I just use my dim. "Sidenote avoid led headlights especially opt7 brand. Had issues with iceing over in winter resorted to my fog lights to see not ideal" I'll put these on for extreme conditions or when off road. Just got home in some serious downpour and flipped these on and with great results.
