Radius Arm Bushing Install Success
E350 Worn Out Radius Arm Bushings Removal and Replacement.
While getting my alignment adjusted at Wheelworks, the tech pointed out that my radius arm bushing and sway bar bushings were worn out. The estimate was about $907. The labor for the radius arm bushing removal and install was $560.
I pulled out the radius arm bushing and installed Energy Suspension Bushings. It was easier than I thought. I removed the 3 bolts on the bushing frame and the end nut holding the bushing together. I jacked up the front of the vehicle and the radius arm dropped down. It took about 10 minutes to remove each side.
However, getting everything lined back up for the install was another story. I spent about an hour and a half for both sides figuring out the best strategy to get the holes aligned with the radius arms still attached. I used a combination of a hydraulic jack, scrap piece of wood, and a 3 pound mallet to align the holes and button everything up.
Next time I do the job, it should be less than hour total for both sides. I did not use a jack on the passenger side as sit dropped right down.
