Talking wiring problems

just a tip for you all ,if you use one of those probe lites with one of these points on the end be sure to take care of the holes you make, if they are outside they get moisture in them and the wire will rot
they are not easy to see on a used truck eather
I just about took the tank out of my 96 explorer but found a rotten wire by the tank plug
seems as though some one did some probing and did not seal the hole
no fun 20 miles in the sticks

hope this helps

wiring problems

I am usually there making/repairing connections so I have silicone dielectric grease available. I smear that on the punctures. I have used tape but that did not hold.

wiring problems

I usually use tape, but I always check my wiring every now and then. Can't be too cautious with an old truck.
