NO NO NO This is the pacific Northwest. Superduty trucks with the 7.3 go for way higher then the rest of the nation. We have different market out here. That sounds about right.

Truth here. Beat up OBS 7.3's listed in the mid to high teens.

If I only had $30k. That wood grain would have to go though. http://portland.craigslist.org/clc/cto/5483196737.html

TX search might not be a bad idea.

Where are you guys at? D@mn, 60,000. I'd love to get my hands dirty with something like that. Unfortunately it doesn't come with food, utilities, and other life necessities 😜

Asking price is one thing. What they actually get, is another.

It's Oregon. The going rate for a 7.3 newer body with around 200k is 15k.

I have a DP Tuner with towing tunes would interested in what a "Performance Tune" If I was to buy a truck with a Tuner I would want to know what tunes he had and would probably pass if it had High Performance go fast tunes..

From what I have seen low mileage 7.3's are in the ball park of the one your looking at but look around there are plenty out there like this one with less miles and the last year of the 7.3 a Larriet and has leather..

That truck is valued around 10k up here in Canada. Not sure what your prices are like. But we do get a lot of Americans coming here and buying up our 7.3s. There actually hard to get here. Like others have said. Depending on the mods, I deduct as well if it has them. Some mods are different and mainly for functionality, but any mod pertaining to horse power and torque is a deduction. And the new tranny is nice. But it blew for sure form the power mods. So lots of red flags saying he liked his hp mods and used them. I paid 17k for mine 6 years ago, which is in line with our pricing up here. The truck had no mods except an Edge chip. Which I removed as they are junk. Since they are junk, and luckily Edge puts safety perameters in there tuning to protect the truck, I was not worried about the chip. But if it had a chip in it from a manufacturer that bypasses the rev limiter, then that would be a definite deduction. Huge turbo would not. WHy , because that's an improvement over stock that yes gives power but also benefits the truck against many high power mods that wreck the truck, like keeping EGT temps down. So some mods are good. Others are red flags. I put 25k into my motor. But if I sold the truck I know I would only get what a stocker is worth, for these very reasons. Its a known fact that mods do not ad value to a vehicle, unless done at the time of purchase. Every hot rod builder out there knows you never recover what you put into a hot rod. (Expert shops aside from this of course, they have advantages we don't that make it profitable)

I got my E99 with 177,000 on the clock for $10,000 with extra set of shiny wheels. 1st I sold shiny wheels for $600, 2nd I unlifted with new springs for $2000 (and feel like I got milked on the spring job). Other than that normal stuff like brakes, oil change, GPR. That 'one of a kind' truck has been listed since January, and another one has been listed since mid February.

Since we are talking price now, I bought the truck in my signature bone stock from an older gentlemen when it had 228,000 miles on it. I paid $9200 for it and it now has 242,000 miles and runs better than it ever has.

I guess I know where I am taking my truck if I ever want to sell it. I have a brother in law that lives in Seattle, so the sale should be fairly easy.

The truth is these trucks are getting the higher prices because of the issues they had with the 6.0L and 6.4L. Also there are not many of us that can go out and drop $60-$70,000 on a new truck. So paying extra for a dependable clean 7.3L was worth it for me.
I paid $20,000 for my truck but the price also include having it transported from North Carolina to Connecticut. Was it more than I wanted to pay? Yes, but it was a one owner, bone stock truck with 130,000 miles and was in MINT condition(see pics in my profile). You might think I was crazy, but I now have the truck I want that is extremely dependable and best of all paid for.

At the end of the day, any material item is only worth whatever someone is willing to pay for said item. This value can be different for every person depending on their needs, wants or desires at that particular moment in time.

Do I feel that truck is overpriced? I do, but I don't have a need or want for any of the "extras" this truck has. For someone else, someone who wants to have their truck set up that particular way with those particular features and mods, it may make sense to pay a little more than the general consensus on value, especially when they factor in what a bone stock truck will cost and the price of the mods this truck already has, the time and money they may need to invest in order to do this may make perfect fiscal sense to them.

You just need to figure out what you are looking for in the truck, and what you are willing to pay for said truck when you eventually do find it.

Just my $.02............

The thing is, a truck is worth what someone is willing to pay for it. There aren't any banks that are going to loan that much on a truck that old, so you are narrowing your market considerably by asking too much for a vehicle. The bank may give a person $10K for that truck, and it will be a much higher interest loan because of the age of the vehicle, then the guy buying it has to come out of pocket with another $11k. All is takes is one guy to do it, but there aren't many with that kind of coin willing to spend it on a 15-16 year old truck.

The PNW has it's own price structure for 7.3's. I've seen some pushing $30k.
