horn button wiring
I put on a new steering wheel on my truck and discovered I had no wire for my horn button. There is a set of wires running up the column but cant tell where they go. I assume these wires are for the turn signals and horn but what color wire is it? And how do I test it? Thanks for any help.

The wire usually runs up the center of the steering column. Terminates on one end at the horn relay, usually mounted on the fire wall. From there to the horn. At the top of steering wheel, it goes to a commutator spring. From there to ground when you press the horn button. It grounds to the steering shaft. If you have external wires, 1) they might have been for external directional , 2) You may have had an external horn button that clamped on to the steering wheel
