Ford Gooseneck Prep Kit

I am looking at new F250's and was interested in the Ford Gooseneck prep kit, but saw a new truck with one installed yesterday and have some questions.

How does the ball install/remove from the system? Is the ball a flip over type setup like the B&W hitch? The one I saw did not have any type of handle to allow removal of just the ball.

What ball/pin is it compatible with?

Can anyone that has one give me their thoughts?

Would you get the Ford Prep, or just have a aftermarket system installed?

Thanks,
Dave

It is a reese ball. The design is one where the top of the ball has a latch on it. Lift up and then the ball has a pin on it that retracts and then you can lift it out.

The system also comes with two safety chain tie downs that go into the pucks that the 5th wheel would use.

It is a 25K ball.

So no under the drivers side rear wheel lever to rust or get in the way.

It is a good system.
