Forward e-brake cable

So I am hoping that someone can help me out. I need a new forward ebrake cable (the one from the handle) and I am having no luck finding it. I have a 1963 F100 and in all the books that I find it is showing that the front cable is 80 3/4" long but when I measure mine it is more like 87" long. I also noticed that with mine there is a housing around the entire length of the cable where the ones they have for sale the housing covers approx. 1/3 of the cable. anyone have a part number for me or know where I can order one?

Is your truck 2WD or 4WD? If 2WD the Ford master parts catalog shows the same 80 3/4" long and a part number of

C1TT-2853-AA

You might want to search the forum and read the 4 other threads where this part number was discussed.

it is 4wd. I have read some of the previous posts and didnt quite find what I was looking for. You are correct on that part number and every catalog I have shows the only option as that 80 3/4" cable. There has to be another option though. Thanks for sending the link to the other posts, I am going to flip through them now.

Excellent! That makes all the difference in the world.

It would instead be 88 7/16" long and a part number of

C1TT-2853-AB

I'm not seeing any available NOS, but Bill has more resources.

I hear your pain. Some of these parts in NOS form are sort of like a bigfoot sighting.

I know that Roy had a similar issue not being able to find NOS so he sent his old cable to this place and I believe he was happy with the results since he posted a couple of times about this company. It's a possibility anyway.

No Ford dealer or obsolete parts vendor has any.

Thanks for all your help guys. I ended up calling that California push pull company and mailed out my old one to them today. When I get it back I will let you know how it fits so if anyone else is in the same situation as me. Thanks again. On a side note this has been the best forum that I have ever been on. I have always been able to get the anwser I was looking for or atleast a suggestion or place to look. Thanks to everyone on here!
