Still have the electric mower that someone tossed out 6 years ago, never needs an oil change and has yet to run out of gas. Does my yard front and back and cuts 3 other front yards, may need the blades sharpened this year. Its real high maintainance.
Its a general electric with a unidirectional handle, can go back and forth real easy. Had a Sunbeam in Vancouver that was 20 years old when I got it, was to ugly to steal and had it for more than 10 years, I moved and it stayed.
Sometimes they last for a long time. Sometimes not so long. I had to replace ours last year. Looking at prices I decided to buy a used one. For what a new one costs I can buy a bunch of used ones.
Around here the alleys are full of stuff that take 5 minutes and an ounce of grey matter to fix. There will be a half dozen lawn mowers that need such major fixes such as washing the filter or change the plug or sharpen the blade or my favorite, clean out the old grass.
In this town its a case of to much beer. Lol. The brains dont work even when they're sober. I've got a drill collection that allows me to set up whatever bits and brushes I need for a job, probably 6 of them, if I wear out a drill there will be another one show up. I go for my walks and avoid the alleys as there is to much stuff, my place would be packed even worse than it is now.
