I'm looking for a part number for adding a 4 port vacuum controlled shutoff valve in the coolant lines feeding the heater. Preferably, I could pick one up at my local NAPA. I could have sworn I had seen such a post in this forum, but I can't find it.
A few years ago, I added a 2 port shutoff valve (NAPA #660-1200) and it worked great, but it completely shuts off coolant flow in the heater circuit. I now realize a 4 port version would be better, as it would return the coolant instead of completely stopping the flow.
I'm looking for a valve that diverts the flow when vacuum is applied, and runs straight through when vacuum is released.
I tried a 4 port for awhile, it ended up leaking coolant out the vacuum line. So I switched to a 2 port and have noticed any issues yet. Also keep in mind the 2 port was available on the vans, so I figured it was capable of the same duty as the trucks.
