Exhaust Tips
Hey guys - I am a little confused about exhaust tips. I thought that they improved the sound. i.e. made it louder and deeper. I have a 2.50" Edelbrock cat back system that I wanted to make a bit louder and deeper. A buddy of mine just got some clamp on tips so I decided to try them out on my truck before he put them on. They are Hooker 3.50" angle cut 11" long. They looked great and they made the tone a little deeper but that was at the expense of the volume. It definitely lowered the volume instead of making it louder. I just put them on the end of my tailpipes and didn't cut my pipes like he is going to do. Does that make a difference? Also, do you think the 18" long ones would increase the volume? I want to be sure before I go cutting my pipes. Thanks.
