Got Extended
Thought I would drop a line to my fellow Texans. I just got back to Korea from midtour leave and found that I was involentarily extended for another 3 months. The part that sucks the most is that I will mis a second holliday season and my wife's and daughter's birthdays again. Boy is she pissed about that. At least I was able to drive the Bronco for nearly a month. I replaced the leaking intake gasket and dropped in the Edelbrock manifold at the same time. The milage went from 9mpg to 12mpg plus the wicked hesitation is gone. I ate a lot of lobster too! Well, at least I will be back in the lone star state in feb. Can't wait. If anybody has any info about the Belton area I would appreciate it. The wife wants to live out there so we will be closer to the lakes.

Unfortunately it's all part of the military experience. I was at Ft. Hood in '74, when I got back from 'Nam. Lived in Belton... nice town back then, but it has grown now! I'm headed up to Salado (just south of Belton) this weekend... if I see any Chamber of Commerce type info lying around on Belton I'll grab it and holler back at you via e-mail.

I know what you mean. I spent 14 months in Korea at Camp Castle in 89'-90'. They tried to get me to extend voluntarily but I was ready to ETS and get back home. I live south of Houston now but my sister and her husband live in Temple and are building a house in Belton. They love it up there and say the way things are growing there, they are close enough to everything but still have that small town feel.
