Question A/c Clutch Problems

Hello, I have an 84 f-150, 351w. I bought it recently and I am trying to get the a/c working. The belt was under the seat so I figured I would start there. I put it on and started the truck and turned on the a/c. It was blowing cold air! I checked the operation of the compressor and noticed that the clutch is making a grinding noise. It also doesn't cycle on or off, it just works with the switch. I took the clutch hub off and there was alot of metallic dust and grease or rubber behind it. The clutch/pulley seems to spin freely on the bearing when the hub is removed, but not when it is installed. I was wondering if I could just replace the hub or do I need to replace them both. The hub is pretty much toast. The rubber is coming apart in the center. I also noticed that there was a snap ring behind the hub and in front of the clutch/pulley. It wasn't attached to anything? I was wondering if it should hold the hub to the clutch or if it is supposed to hold the clutch to the compressor? I have some pics of the parts if that will help. I would greatly appreciate some help with this cause I don't know much about a/c systems. Thanks all!
