OK what wire do I need to ground or cut for GPS to work while driving, I understand the safety of not using while driving, but its very annoying when driving 20 hours and have to pull over everytime my girlfriend needs to change so she can find a hotel, gas etc. Also can anyone tell me how to disconnect the annoying seat belt bell ???
I cannot lead you to the wire, but I can recommend a phone app that will greatly assist.
If you've registered your vehicle on the Ford Owner's site: https://owner.ford.com/tools/account/your-vehicle.html
Then you'll be able to follow certain things with the truck. The most helpful is the ability to send coordinates to Sync/the GPS via your phone. On the iPhone, the app is "Sync Destinations".
Once you set it up (about 5 mins) all you have to do is search within it, send it to Sync, dial up Services and say "YES" when prompted. The coordinates download and you're good to go. Another nice thing is the ability to store the coordinates on your phone...and you can set up multiple phones. I have it linked to my phone and the wife's. Greatly eases finding waypoints.
Ridiculous that a passenger can't use the nav while driving, I bet someone has gotten around it. I know what your saying though gotta be a thousand wires in there ugh
Did my post go unnoticed? It's not the solution you want, but you should try it as it will greatly aide your efforts.
I learned about the App on day 2 of ownership and I've never manually entered an address via the touchscreen in 27 months.

But can you enter the address while the vehicle is moving ?
Yes, you have full functionality, via the app, while in motion. The only thing you'd do as the driver is hit the phone button on the wheel and when prompted say "services" then wait for the waypoint and say "YES". The only thing you'll do on the screen is confirm the coordinate via a touch on the "set as destination" button.
Your passenger would be able to input any information into the app as they wished. The map within the app is powered by Bing Maps and works pretty well.
I personally like it cause I can send coordinates before I ever get in the vehicle, allowing me to get in and start moving while the coordinates load. By the time I'm out of the neighborhood the destination is set.
