I was hoping that someone in this forum ould tell me if I can get a new bed, or aftermarket quarter panels (with a little higher quality then tin foil)for a 92 to 96 F-150. I have a shorty with a single tank. I live in Maine and they use straight salt on the highway, and my bed is going up like wildfire. I just wanted to look into a new bed as an option, but couldn't find anything on the net. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I know of a local body part place that can get complete beds for most any truck. They are new import jobs. They are unassembled, you would have to weld or rivet it together, most would probably mig weld it. They cost about a grand or so.

A buddy of mine recently put a Reading utility body on his truck. He said that the place that put it on offered to buy his bed, since they will sometimes get calls on people like you, looking for beds. He made out better selling it himself, but if you can find a place like that in your area, it might be worth checking into.

I live in mass but i drive to maine in the winters to go snowmobiling and i know what its like. I painted my undercarrage with paint from Hirsch Automotive Products (www.hirschauto.com) with this stuff called miracle paint. This stuff is great, once applied properly, will END your salt problems. This is the only paint i know of that is completely resistant to DOT 3 brake fluid, as well all know is a good enemy of ours. Permantly cures any rust and salt problems. Check it out it is good stuff.
