Steering wheel spokes

I'm trying to make rhyme or reason out of the steering wheels 40-47. My 40 panel is 2 spoke, 47 I just parted out is 2 spoke and now today I'm hauling home a 40 truck and a 47 COE and they both have 4 spoke. ?????????????

The tonners and smaller trucks had the two spoke wheels. The four spoke wheels were in the big trucks. Also, the four spoke wheels on the war era trucks had bare steel spokes and hub, I don't know if the two spoke wheels in the smaller trucks were the same. I assume it was to conserve rubber.

The steering shaft end is the same on all of the trucks. I would imagine that someone changed wheels.

If you notice on Geoff's vimeo video he made for me the '47 titled tonner panel has 2 spoke and when it looks like we are driving in it, it has a 4 spoke. That's because he did a lot of filming then at home he did a lot of editing. The interior of the cab shots were taken in the '47 2 ton because the panel had run outa gas at that time. Hence the switch from 2 spoke to 4......
