Step Bumper Compatibility

Hey all,

Just wondering if a 92-07 step bumper will work on a 2010. A lot of the listings i see for step bumpers say 92-07 But will they fit a 2010?

Thanks

I'll bet they are the same from 92 to 2013. I think even the front can be swapped (they will not follow the body, but will mount)

Bodies are pretty much the same from '92 through 2014 or end of life of the E-Series.

If you find online "body builders layout drawings" you might be able to compare frame dimensions of the various years to do your own check for compatibility.

Were it me I'd maybe visit local salvage yards with a tape measure or search parking lots for the different years, ask owners if you can take a quick measurement of the rear frame spacing.

Its not too helpful I'm sure but chances are bumpers should be compatible across the E-Series for the years you're asking about. I'm loath to say yes because I'm not 100% positive.

Please let us know what you find---might be helpful to others down the road.

Hey all, Just thought id share my findings on this...

Went to the wreckers today.. picked up a step bumper off of a 2000 E250. Direct bolt on to my 2010 which came with a blade bumper. The only difference was the blade bumper has two mounting studs to each frame rail and the step bumper has 3 mounting studs.

This is timely info. I'm planning on replacing my E150 bumper with a step bumper as well.

The blade bumper i removed only used two mounting studs (top and bottom diagonally) each side. The Step bumper uses 3 studs each side ( two on the bottom and one on the top)

The step bumpers have a much bigger mounting bracket to accommodate the big step bumper, but both bumpers have the same mounting surface where the studs are.

Mine was a direct swap, not grinding or cutting at all.
