I am in the market for a pickup to tow a 5th wheel total weight of the 5th wheel is 10,000lb will a F150 3.5 ecoboost handle this or would it be wiser to go to an F250 with a 6.7. I am also looking for the best mileage.
With that kind of weight, going out for a month at a time, I would go F250. Personally, I would not want to two 10k regularly with an F150. I tow 9500 and do it with an F250.
Thanks for all the advise, I initially was going to go with a F-150 supercab, 8' box with ecoboost 3.5. However after spending several hours on this forum and realizing if I got a 150 I was committed to an Xlite 5th wheel and I don't want to do that so I believe I will get something like a F-250, Supercab, 8ft box with a 6.7, most likely a Lariat. Again thanks for all the help. I will be interested in the aluminum body, I have been in aircraft maintenance for the last 45 years and the aluminum doesn't bother me a bit, you just have to remember if you drill it you must coat it.

Why doesn't Ford use the ecoboost motor in the Super Duties?
Ford always talks about testing the F150 ecoboost for a million miles and extreme conditions. If so then why is it my 16 can't tow a RZR and Ranger on a 2000 lb trailer without pulling 3 degrees of timing due to the heat? Why put in a smaller more inefficient intercooler to help with the condensation issue but at the same time makes towing a load in the heat next to impossible?
