Orich, heres a picture of whats running on my '72 f250 2wd. The water pump pulley is a double about 7 1/4" and a fixed fan. I haven't had a problem with over heating but I haven't been in stop and go traffic in the summer with this truck much. The crank pulley is a triple with an added AC pulley. The crank pulleys are actually smaller than the water pump pulley...under 7". You have some pulleys that looks like this?

As with a fixed fan you can get by with a 7.1/4" W/P size pulley. Where as with if you where using a clutch fan the W/P needs to spin a little faster for any city driving.

And in most cases, I only see one belt for the alternator when a clutch fan is used.

Some guys when switching to a clutch fan don't realize they need to use the smaller pulley and wonder why there having some over heating in stop & go driving. this was my point.

Ok, got it. I'll probably stick with the fixed fan because thats what I have and I kinda like to keep it a simple as possible. I found a single pulley I had for the water pump but am still looking for a double pulley for that so I can run 2 belts to the alternator.

Do you think I would have a problem going to the smaller 6.5/8" pulley and keeping the fixed fan? Its a factory fan and doubt its going to flex much.

May be at 70-75mph if that, but the clutch fans do help milk out a little more mpg.

Ah, didn't know that would help mpg. I'm pretty sure I have a clutch fan from a 460 I'm slowing working on. Maybe I should change out for the fixed fan and go with your smaller water pump pulley. Did you have a chance to check what size the other crank pulley you have is?

Lower crank pulley has 3 belt pulley 7.1/4"

And the w/p pulley, I just removed from my motor 2belts 6.5/8''

And have another 2belt pulley that, I got off and engine from the junk yard with a clutch fan that is 5.7/8" that I got to flip.

I would be interested in a 3 groove lower pulley for a 3 bolt harmonic balancer if anyone has one..I have a dual groove W/P and ALT pulleys now.
How about using a GM Saginaw pump? Will I be able to us the 3 groove crank pulley?
And IM SORRY for the hijack!

I've still have a 3v belt crank pulley. The two inner v belt grooves fit the alternator & water pump 3/8" belt with the pulley OD of 6.3/4"

The one outer v belt groove takes a 7/16" or a 1/2" width belt, the Pulley has a OD of 6.0"

And a water pump two belt 3/8" pulley with a OD is 5"3/4" pulley these smaller ones are needed when converting to a clutch fan as the water pump needs to spin a little faster in slow city driving.

If interested shoot me a email.

3 bolt harmonic balancer (C3AZ-6312-E replaced COAZ-6312-B / Reproduced): Passenger Cars = 1960/67 352; 1961/67 390 & 1966/67 410/428 (except 428 Police Cruiser) / 1965/67 F100/350 352.

The harmonic balancer contains a single sheave pulley. FoMoCo offered single, double and triple sheave outer accessory pulleys that bolt to the balancer to add P/S and/or A/C
