Stalling issues
Hey guys,
I got a 2005 E 150 with the small 8 cyl. 178000 miles. I've been having an issue on making turns from a dead stop. Stalls out, not every turn but some. It runs and drives fine straight.
I'm thinking that this is very possibly a fuel issue, maybe filter or pump?
any thoughts?

Change the fuel filter because it's cheap and might help.
The stalling is probably steering pump related. Maybe a sensor or something.
Also, does it stall when you turn the wheel all the way to the right or left while you are stopped?
Is the actual movement of the van making a turn the culprit?
Or is it turning the wheel the culprit?

^^^ Great advice about changing the filter----cheap, easy and could very well solve this issue.
I'd also test the fuel pressure at idle which will give some indication of the fuel pump's health. The guy's in the Modular Motors V8 forum can give the best advice of desired pressures both at idle and under throttle.
This being possibly related to the PS pump could also be very true---when at full lock left or right the pump does seem to draw down engine RPM's. Coupled with low fuel pressure stalling out completely is a very distinct possibility.
Please let us know what you discover---I've not heard too much about this sort of thing over my time here.

Here is where I'm at with this
New Fuel filter- No change
NO Schrader valve...anyways hooked up my scan tool and I read 38 psi to 41 psi at idle as well as under load
Found a loose belt... so I replaced... No change
I removed the belt completely so only engine is working... NO change.. That told me I can elimate the thought of power steering. So with all that disconnected and it still has the same problem.
Idles anywhere between 300-900, natural once it drops it stalls.
Now I'm investigating IAC, etc

Not sure what year the IAC's were eliminated but if your's has one that could very well be the culprit.
I've had two of those go bad and cause similar conditions but to the point idling wasn't possible, in or out of gear.
There should be a Schrader valve test port on your fuel rails somewhere---if that's missing it would be a new one on me. Sometimes they're not the easiest to find. OTOH if the computer reported fuel pressure is accurate at the injectors that's sufficient for smooth idle.
Hope you solve this easily and cheaply too!

So yesterday the van got to the point where it wouldn't even start. Check engine and that little wrench showed up on the dash.
Codes
PO 2104,2106,2111,2135
I've replaced the throttle body motor and the TPS. Van finally started but have NO PEDAL, I press and press, nothing
Spent the afternoon youtubing and googling possible answers. I've followed all 89 different procedures on how the pcm can relearn the throttle.. and still nothing. Any ideas?

Go here: https://actron.com/code-lookup, enter the info requested and see what those codes point to.
That site isn't a "how to fix this......." site but without knowing the DTC's you're guessing what's wrong. If that leads to a wholesale replacing of parts that's a sure way to waste money and time, the lack of positive results one of the downsides to that sort of action.

All fixed
heres what I did
Disconnected battery terminals for 24 hours
Charged to 100%
Removed the new throttle actuator
Reinstalled old one
Removed the new TPS ( purchased at advanced)
Install new TPS from Ford Dealer
Cleaned ground terminal at passenger side of block just under valve cover
Reconnect Battery
Turn key to on position (not run) for 10 min's
Turn key off, then start engine
Ran for 4 mins until it stalled, cleared existing codes then restart.
let run for 10-15 mins at idle until engine temp came up
then held throttle at 1500 rpm for 2 mins and
now it idles/accelerates without stalling.
Everything that helped me figure this out was thru googling and youtube. For the first time since I've been on this forum it didn't help me one bit.
