1998 Expedition problems

My 1998 Expedition has two problems, first, when I open the drivers door the interior lights and running boards light flash untill the door is opened all the way, then and it repeats it's when shutting it. Help!

Second is the overhead light does not come on at all and the bulb is fine and the map light work when turned on.

Try to clean the door light switch contained with the door latching mechanism with a WD-40 type spray.
