Hello All;
I have a 96 f150 with a 4.9L 6. The rear end has 273's. I find
the gearing way to high and no good for pulling. I have a chance to put in 355's but I am tempted to go with 411's. I don't go on the highway much and I use the truck mainly to pull a 5000 lb
trailer.
Has anybody had any experience with these gears in the same truck?
Thanks for your time
Cheers!!
I've got 3.73s with 30" tires on my 96. They're about equivalent to 3.55s with the stock tires. They're enough gear. I wouldn't want the 4.11s personally, they push the revs too far above the torque peak at highway revs. Stick with the 3.55s
