I am planning to put a GoRhino Brushguard (Sumatra 3000 Series) on my '03 Excursion 4x4.
Does anyone know where that guard bolts on. The manufacturer told me that there is no cutting or drilling required. But as I was under my truck yesterday, I simply can not figure out where that guard should bolt on???
I had a Go Rhino brush guard on my 2000 SuperDuty and they are right about there not being any cutting or drilling. It took me about 30 minutes to assemble the brush guard and then install it myself. There will be two brackets that bolt in at the tow hooks and then Go Rhino will supply two 1/8" steel plate brackets that bolt into the frame in factory holes. These brackets are what you will bolt the bottom of the brush guard to. All the grade 8 bolts and bracketry are supplied. It was a very straight forward and easy install. I really liked the looks of the guard on my truck and it was pretty stout, not flimsy like some I have seen. I just noticed that you list your vehicle as a 2003. In your case, due to the added blocker beam under the bumper, Go Rhino redesigned how the guard mounts. It will still bolt into the tow hooks but since it can not go under the bumper it will require the temporary removal of the bumper and has a new bracket that bolts behind the bumper to further brace and hold the guard. This is what I was told by one of their own tech reps, because I was trying to figure out if I could use my old guard on my 2003 SuperDuty. Hope this helps and does not confuse you to bad.

Thank you so much... now it makes more sense to me.
But did you say, that I have to remove my bumper (temporarely)??? Gee... I really don't want to get into that mess.
Where are you going through with the two vertical beams of the guard? Underneath the blocker beam or through those slotted openings in the lower valence???
Looked underneath the truck again and can't figure it out.
From what the tech guy told me the vertical beams on the new design do not go down as far so there is no need go under the bumper. Also, from what he said there is only about 4 or 6 bolts that hold the bumper on, then the new brackets are put into position and the bumper bolted right back on. He said that somebody with average skills could do the install in about 30 minutes. Hope this helps ya out.
