Will be removing intake manifold as have some leaky gaskets. Thinking about upgrading and want to see if it's worth the $750 bucks or 1200 if I do the TB with it. Looking at the Edelbrock unit So the ride is a 1990 F250 5.8 5 speed super clean. or maybe ill just clean up the stock one with some fresh paint and be done with it
cheapest, and one of the most effective routes, is getting adapters to run a 302 intake on the 351. the truck 302 intake is very good and can be gotten for close to nothing, adapters are something like 200-250.
not trying to be antagonistic, but the 351 truck lower is the worst piece of trash produced for the efi sbf's and is the largest choke point of the 351 intake.

When I checked on the adapter price a couple months ago, it was around 300 to 319, I believe ... not disagreeing with the other points .....
In general changing the intake on an early 5.8EFI is a waste of time and money, the stock cam and the whole exhaust system need to go first and then the heads and intake need to be done at the same time.

HMMMM see I need to get my truck dyno'd as it sits currently with the stock intake and perhaps pick these adapters up and run the stock 302 intake I have sitting around and see the difference. 5.8 intake is garbage. I wonder how high that guy was at the assy plant when those intakes were produced.

From what I have read, etc it wasn't the assembly line guys but rather the engineers or corporate honchos who made the decision to restrict the intake by the poor design ..... seems that if someone built a good flowing lower that could bolt up with the stock 351 or 302 upper on the 5.8 block they might have something worth selling .....
i have the edelbrock intake and the dual 61 mm t/b I liked the results on my 96's stock long block. I also have the k and n intake system too . is it pricey ? you bet. its worth a cam change and some headers on the earlier engine.
