That's what I hear, but I dono.

Uh-oh, looks like someone is doing a little mud slingin'.... Not sure if someone would make it to 709 posts and not be discovered if they were in fact a bowtie-****...

I think we're winning

I confess that in my misguided youth, I was a Chevy lover from a family of Chevy owners. But I soon switched over to Pontiacs until they too became powered by bowtie & Oldsmobubble engines. (insert a moment of silence in sadness over the demise of the one big block V-8 that I truly loved)
I wandered for years between vehicles usually some form of Chevy truck although I will admit to owning a few Fords ('65 F-100, '72 Gran Torino & '85 F-150) during this time.
However, in '99 I became the owner of an '85 BII that with it's little V6 and ability to go almost anywhere that soon won a place in my heart for the blue oval.

I have been Ford true blue forever. I wouldn't even consider any other brand.

We own so many Fords its probably unbelieveable.

My aunt grew up in a bowtie family (maybe that has something to do with the timing, dennis, all dressed up when it breaks), and realized what a money pit they are, cause they dollar you to death. My uncle soon got some sense into her, as he has a 78 150 with a 429, C6, and 37.5's, and a hoard of early mustangs, and 2 late model t-birds.

I'm a true blue Ford guy myself
The rest of my family (the few that has trucks) pick the bowtie
I asked why, and my cousin said "because the Ford Tranny went out on me and I refuse to buy another Ford." (This was according to him in the 70's or early 80's in one of his Ford cars)

Oh well, not my loss.

Most people dont realize that the 80s was the absolute worst time for the automobile. Any time is the worst time to have a chevy...

I have owned alot of cars and trucks, and my favorit has got to be the 67-72 ford trucks. Most of the cars I have owned were crap exept the 98 taurus, 96 Ranger and the 68 ranger.
I do own a circle bar N, '93 240SX,but that is the ECONO cruizer since the old beast is needing tranny and rear end work.

in the early 90's my family owned everything made. we had a few fords some good a few bad eggs. my dad bought his firs new car which was 88 Ford van with the 302 v8 I think and it was worthless. new motor tranny and small things like radio and the door switchs. driveing down the road the inside lights would come on and off. after three switches he finaly cut the wires . Thats not the bad part. we took it back to ford after the tranny and they voided out warrenty. I was only 13 or 14 but I think they said because there was signs of us towing something that the van was not rated for hence the tranny failure can they do that. O well we got rid of the van. when I turned 16 I bought a used Ford truck. PSD 5spd blue. nice looking truck. the syncos in the tranny started failing one by one and then I lost an injector and rear end. I admit I don't know what the guys used the truck before me for. I sold it to a friend and bought an older 94 Dodge which I still have and am very happy with. from 97 on we switched to Dodge and have never been happier. it really helped when I met Mark whos dad owns our local Dodge dealership and we started getting better prices on Dodge cars/trucks. bought a 98 three months ago and a 95 Dodge truck back in 98. which we use them for our grave digin business. If I buy another truck it would be a Dodge or Ford but Dodge would have to reallt hit the dumps for me to buy another make. Drive what ever gets you where you need to go. its your money so buy what makes you happy.

America at its finest!

Personally, I could probably drive any pre 1980 domestic 4x4 truck and be happy. I like the early Dodge and Chevy trucks, I think the early Blazers were nice. Though I think the early Fords of the same era were MUCH nicer.

My Aerostar is DOA (189K and the tranmission went) so my wife is driving a 1981 full size Chevy. I would have liked a 78 Bronco instead. Beggars can not be choosers so I am 110% thankful for the Chevy because it surely beats the Fred Flintsone method of transport. Plus, it seats six and has a real frame.

So, I guess for now I have traded a Ford for a Chevy.
